Speaker Bio:

Andrew White, MD, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Washington. He works as a hospitalist at the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake campus. He is also board-certified in Clinical Informatics and serves UW Medicine as assistant Chief Clinical Information Office for clinical decision support.  Andrew is the director of education programs at the UW Center for Scholarship in Patient Care Quality and Safety, where he directs multiple local and regional training programs in methods to improve healthcare quality, safety, value, and equity. His research interests include improving patient-physician communication after medical error and applying informatics interventions to improve health and patient safety outcomes. Since 2020 he has been leading the development and testing of the Video-based Communication Assessment (VCA) simulation tool for teaching error disclosure communication skills to physicians.
