This webinar will give learners a foundational understanding of the tort system and how it interacts with CRPs.

Learning Objectives

• Describe the basics of how the tort system operates in a medical error/adverse outcome situation.
• Describe the basics of how, when, and why CRP, “apology laws,” “mandatory disclosure” laws/requirements, and healthcare licensing systems intersect and/or collide with the tort system.
• Identify one or two key points to assist risk managers, liability coverage carriers, patient advocates, and physician leaders respectively in navigating these intersections/collisions.
